General Strategy Tips
Listed below are some tips on how to get the best out of your game of roulette to complement our basic roulette strategy tips.
Tip #1: Manage Your Money
As in all casino games, it is important in roulette to manage your bankroll well. Don’t blow your bankroll on making a huge bet on a single spin. Bet small amounts, make your game last. The odds will still be the same the next round.
Tip #2: Mind the Odds
The 35 to 1 payout for a single number bet may sound very attractive, but there is a reason the casino can afford to keep the payout so high. You may occasionally hear about someone winning such a bet, but most of the time people lose. Opt for even number bets, and place bets on 3, 4 or 6 numbers. This way, if you win a bigger bet it will compensate for your losses.
Tip #3: The Worst Bet
Be aware that the top line bet (00, 0, 1, 2, 3) is the worst bet. It has a lower expected value than any other bet in the game.
Tip #4: Enjoy Yourself!
If you feel you are getting frustrated, take a break. Chances are, when you get frustrated you will begin to make bad decisions and chase losses. Though winning can happen and is certainly more fun, don’t depend on it. Don’t, for instance, rely on roulette to pay your rent. Especially a game like roulette – where players bet while aware of the significant house edge – should be played for the enjoyment of the game rather than with the expectation to win a lot of money. If you play while putting a lot of pressure on winning, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
