Kith Thieng, a Cambodian business tycoon with stakes in the hotel and restaurant businesses, a television channel, a bank, and a mobile phone operator, is launching a $100 million dollar (773M Rand) casino complex near the country’s Vietnamese border. Though most gamblers will be Vietnamese, the casino hopes to attract many more foreign visitors.
a vital customer base of Cambodian casinos along the Thai border are patrons from Thailand, where most forms of gambling are illegal. This casino however, situated on the other side of the country, expects Chinese visitors to account much of its future revenue and growth.
