Bingo Chat Rules

Introduction

Because the chats are such an important part of playing online bingo, it’s important that you and everyone else feels comfortable using the chat functions. In most online bingo games there will be a chat window open in the same screen that displays your cards and the numbers that are being drawn. Here you will be able to read other player’s comments, and add comments of your own.

Chatting and Chatiquette

The chats are overseen by Chat Monitors (CM). The CM welcomes new players, congratulates players on winning, and hosts the chat games that sometimes take place in between the bingo games. There are certain rules of etiquette that players must keep in mind, and these are generally pretty straightforward rules of (net-)courtesy, such as no abusive language, no flaming or hating, and USING ONLY CAPITAL LETTERS is also considered rude because it looks like you’re shouting.

Way To Go!

Players will often congratulate each other by saying “wtg!” or “Way to go!”. You may also see other acronyms used to congratulate people, since these may differ per community and country.

Chat Games

Popular chat games include Odds and Evens, Keno, Roulette, Dodgeball, and Birthday Bingo. It differs per community, and if you win these games you can sometimes win up to four or even eight times the amount it costs to buy a bingo card! They are also fun because they involve players in the chat more, allowing you to get to know more people.
